Sometime last year I came up with a plan to surprise my dad with a buy-in to the World Series of poker. Quite a few of the players at the home game knew that he was going to play this year, but we managed to keep it a secret from him until about 20 minutes before the game. The day before the event, we stole his license, signed him up for a player card and had the floor manager from the main room at the Rio pick up the seat ticket for us. The next day, under the guise of playing in another event, we had Johnny Chan present him with his seat ticket right outside of the room he would be playing in. Overall, it was a great surprise and dad's "Bull-shit!" reaction to Johnny was classic!
