Online Action at partypoker.com - 12/14/04

Chris Moneymaker is probably the best known online poker player after he turned a $40 tournament entry into a $2.5M win at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. The online tables are a great place to practice and to test your skills when a trip to Las Vegas isn't in the cards. Another great thing about the online world is that you can get lots of action on anything from a .50 cent table to a no-limit game.

I'm probably a better no-limit player at this point, but I have been working on my limit play at partypoker.com for the last few weeks. It's the largest online poker site in the world and they have tens of thousands of players from all over the globe at their tables at any given time. So far, I've seen some pretty weak players and some downright tough competition at the tables.

This last week, I entered the $30 no-limit Texas Hold 'em tournament which started with about 1,100 players. By the time it was over, I finished in 35th place and took home a prize of $167. If I had made it just a few more positions, it would have been quite a good payoff for the effort!

If you want to sign up and play some online poker, let me know and I'll refer you. We'll both get a cash bonus for any new account and that can go directly into your first few games. I play under the name "mrwolf7" if you want to search for me and sit at my table. We also have two players from my regular house game on the site as well. Papa-Moorman plays under the name "ez2btall" and Damon plays under "sfbay_damon". Come and join us!
